My beautiful son and some babyshower highlights

Bethany, founder of the baby house where Jeremiah lives went on a mission trip to the Bethany Baby House was kind enough to send me these pictures of Jeremiah. They are beautiful and have made my week!!
Two adorable babies. Mine is the littler one, the other is Johnny.
Beautiful boy.
I have the bouncer that matches this swing waiting here at home for him!
LOL, what kind of a face is that?
Friends
A beautiful lady loving on my son :)
Aww, what a sweet tiny little boy.
I LOVE this picture! Babies and bumbos all in a row :0)
Matthew, Johnny, Jacob, and Jeremiah, the tiniest one. Ours! :-)
Jeremiah on the Bethany House quilt someone from Rennie's church made for him. She made one for each one of the babies. How sweet!
The three old pictures I had from a month and a half ago :-)
I talked to Rennie who runs the baby house today and she said that he is around 8 lbs. He hasn't gained any weight because he has been growing longer over the past few weeks. He is tiny, but wearing 3 months size because he is getting to long for some 0-3 month stuff. He also had his first baby food on Friday. Lamb dinner (ICK!!) and peaches. I just love getting these updates! It is second best to not actually being there with him and experiencing these firsts.

Baby Shower Highlights:
The spread. The punch cupcakes and fruit were amazingly good!
The cupcakes with blue frosting and handmade white chocolate monogram candy "J's."
The gift table.
The haul

My wonderful friend Stephanie, the hostess. Thanks Girl! It was Fabulous!

Making things Beautiful!

Perhaps you remember this ugly little pile of things from last week that I promised to make beautiful?:
Well, I did! And $4 worth of ugly frames and basket now look pretty nice. I took apart the big picture frame and the smaller red one and spray painted the frames black. Then filled them with some of my favorite pictures. I also spray painted the silver metal basket white. I haven't quite gotten to the smaller frame or the flannel I plan on turning into cloth wipes.
The basket in use. Isn't that bumpy blue blanket TO.DIE.FOR.? I so love it!! The yellow and green plaid blanket on top is the blanket that two of my older cousins as well as me and all four of my brothers were brought home from the hospital in. I am going to bring Jeremiah home from Africa in it. :0) I love sweet memories and family traditions!
The basket joining the others on the changing table shelf.
A closer up of my pictures with their "new" frames.
A naked staircase and ugly circuit box begging for some attention.
Yes, that big space is there on purpose. I am still waiting to find one more picture frame to hang another 5x7. If you are really observant you might notice I changed the mushroom picture to one of Mike and I. I am a girl and I reserve the right to change my mind :)
Some up and coming projects:
I bought this a while back with plans to take out the print that is REALLY not my style and put a different picture in it. Now I have an unconventional idea for this frame. But you will have to wait and see if it turns out or not :)
My new vanity shelf. I need some place to hold my make up and perfume bottles and jewelry and such since the dresser with the hutch that held such things before is now in the baby's room. We found this cabinet/shelf on Sunday and it SCreaMed potential at me. Please Paint me white and distress my edges I heard it say. Put your pretty perfume bottles and your Grandma's pitcher on my shelf. Well I listened and I am super excited! This is going to be beautiful!!! I am going to sand it down and Mike is going to spray it bleached almond (creamy white) for me with his new paint sprayer and cut a piece of mirror for the inside where the beadboard is. Then I am going to add crystal glass knobs to the doors and hang it in the master bedroom. Now I just need to find a cute tall chair to go with it!
I love the row of hangers at the bottom!
And the cabinet to hide my makeup and things.
I can't wait to get moving on my new projects. I am so excited to see how my new vanity turns out!

Weekend With Mike

Mike took a long weekend so we could spend some time together just the two of us before I leave for Africa to start the process of adopting our son. I will be there a few weeks before he joins me and we will miss each other! On Saturday we got up early and went to Crystal Mountain to go snowboarding. For me it was more like snowfalling. We didn't get lift tickets, we just went and played around on a hill while Mike gave me pointers and and tried to teach me the basics in turning and stopping. It was really frustrating because I really sucked, but it was pretty fun too. I was sure sore the next day! Next Saturday I will be getting lift tickets and playing/learning on the bunny slope while Mike does some real snowboarding.
Our boards
On Sunday after church we stopped at a thrift shop and found a great shelf/cabinet that I am going to transform into a beautiful dressing table/shelf for me. I need something to store my makeup and perfume since the hutched green dresser moved to the baby's room. After lunch of Mexican food (my favorite!!) at the yummy place we used to go all the time when we were newly married, we went to Alki beach and went for a walk, then watched the sun set over the water from Starbucks. I was lame and forgot my camera though so no pretty sunset pictures.
On Monday we were going to get up really early and take the ferry to Whidbey island and then drive home over Deception Pass. I was really sleepy and lazy though, so I did not get up early. We did have a lovely day on Whidbey island, but we took the ferry both ways instead of driving all the way to Deception pass.:)
Helleborus.
Bright yellow Daffodil.
Happy little daffodils.
Pretty Heather.
Pretty green flowers. There were a lot of pretty flowers in Langley.
Random Langley pictures.
We wandered through the shops in Langley and I took some pictures. I found the most adorable tree and owl fabric at Quilting By The Sea, but used all of my self control to not buy it. After window shopping we went on a little hike.
A hearty little daisy in the parking lot of the county park we hiked at.
Up close and personal with a mushroom on the trail.
A broken tree. I thought it was pretty.
A view of the beach we were hiking down to.
We even brought Charlie.
The beautiful ocean.

Pilings

Holding hands.
Our hands.
I was getting quite sentimental by the end of our day on Whidbey so that is probably why I tood so many hand pictures. I knew I was going to miss Mike for the weeks that we are apart, so we were soaking in every minute together. One the drive home we took turns reading chapters out of Babywise to each other. Mike was driving, so he read while we were on the ferry and I read the rest of the time. It was a perfect day with my man and a great weekend!!
